My goal is to keep pricing simple and predictable. With IT support, every situation is different so I'll confirm each job in writing beforehand so you will always know what to expect. My standard labour rate is £35 per hour. To keep things simple and fair I operate a 1-hour minimum for both remote work, and on-site visits (which includes travel). After the first hour, time is billed in 15-minute increments. Hardware parts are billed separately and will be quoted in advance when possible.
If a job can be resolved over the internet — and provided you accept a remote logon to your system — then I will try to remedy the issue remotely first.
Remote service applies equally if the faulty system can be brought to my premises, then collected by you when repaired e.g. laptop for battery replacement.
Routine remote troubleshooting, software configuration, user help and non-urgent support.
Booked into the next available slot.

If the problem can be resolved without attending on-site, is not urgent and you can wait a few days for a scheduled slot.
Ideal for guided self-help.
When an issue cannot be resolved over the internet, or an on-site visit is more appropriate.
I come to you to diagnose and fix hardware and software issues, and perform installation and software upgrades locally.
Includes travel in the Portsmouth service area — postcodes PO1 to PO17.
£35 per hour.
1 hour minimum for any visit.
Each visit is treated with a 1 hour minimum.
Even if I am on site briefly (i.e. under an hour), you still pay the one hour minimum — to cover my travel time.
If return visits are needed, e.g. collection of parts, each will be quoted in advance, on request.
For when your issue cannot wait. Providing I'm not servicing other customers and available, I offer an urgent response service, whether remote or on-site.
Urgent problems needing same-day attention or work outside normal hours.
Flat £50 call-out fee includes the first hour, then £35 per hour billed in 15-minute increments.
Flat £70 call-out fee includes the first hour, then £35 per hour billed in 15-minute increments.

Short remote fix that takes 30 minutes.
Billed as 1 hour.
Remote urgent job, 2 hours total → £50 call-out (first hour) + £35 extra hour.

90 minutes
→ 1.5 × £35
On-site & weekend lasting 2 hours
→ £70 call-out

The one hour minimum and call-out fees cover travel and short jobs so you do not get unexpected small invoices, and I can keep work on schedule.
If parts or extra visits are required I will quote those before proceeding.
Standard invoices are issued by email and are due by 14 days unless we agree otherwise.
A support package gives you a flexible arrangement where your problems are prioritised first for same-day attention or work outside normal hours.
Includes 1 emergency onsite call-out (normally £70) and 2 hours of labour (normally £70).
Extra time beyond the package is billed at the discount rate of £30 per hour.
Ideal for small businesses or home workers who want predictable costs and priority response.
